mnemonikos82 Posted August 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2015 Good morning all, my wife, brother and I are hitting Belize in 2 weeks with Carnival and we don't want to book an excursion yet so I'm thinking about my options. I know that if we don't book through Carnival the boat won't wait for you, but we're planning on returning very very early (2-3 hours). Without an excursion already booked, how do you get around? Say for example if you want to go to a beach are there water taxis or operators selling excursions at the port? Can the operators be trusted? Is there anything (non-shopping/food related) that anyone would recommend that doesn't involve pre-booking an excursion? Thanks in advance for the advice! Rare crewsweeper Posted August 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2015 You can take a water taxi to Caye Caulker. There are threads on this board with links to the 2 water taxi companies. About a 5 minute or less walk from the cruise port to the first water taxi station. You can grab a taxi outside the cruise port and ask them to take you to Cucumber Beach/ Old Belize, about a 20 minute drive. It's the only beach around Belize City and it's man made. There are tour operators for snorkeling, cave-tubing, Maya ruins, etc. at the pier looking for customers.
ABQrobin Posted September 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2015 Do an excursion.... Belize is really not the the stop to try to wander around town. There is nothing there... no beach either. It is a port city.
