Does anyone know whether there are wi-fi hotspots in the following Alaskan ports...?

Seward, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, Skagway or Ketchikan...

Excuse my ignorance if there is no such thing...

Thanks.

This should give you a start: http://www.wififreespot.com/alk.php.

The best people to ask are the ship's crew members who use free wifi to keep in touch with home.

In Juneau, there is free public wifi in the library, which is located right in the middle of town, perhaps a five or so minute walk from where the ships dock.

I think you'll be able to find wifi in many restaurants. In Juneau, the restaurant Hanger on the Wharf had free wifi, as did Annabelle's in Ketchikan. At Annabelle's you have to ask for a password.

Absolutely, the ship's crew members are the best source of current information for this sort of thing. They always know! :D

I used the wifi at the public library in Juneau 2 weeks ago! Our ship (the Millennium) was docked closest to the library - literally a 5-minute walk away through a nice area!

Be forewarned that you'll need to wait for the library to open to get in and use the wifi - the day I was there, it opened at 11am. I went upstairs (the library is above a parking structure) and out onto their beautiful patio. I was even able to call home via Facebook - it worked great until more people poured in and the connection slowed down! :)
