Bomb blast in Bangkok Erawan Shrine, Chidlom

This is downright awful. I have walked past this place a good number of times while visiting Bangkok. The blast happened at around 1900hr local time, this evening. Some videos and pictures.

Also known as the Elephant Shrine, for those who have visited Bangkok.

Very sad. Around 18 dead at the last count.

Thoughts & prayers - that could've happened anywhere, a port stop or dis/embarkation city ... apparently aimed at "foreigners" visiting the popular attraction.

 

It's not clear whether this was caused by a lone wolf or organized terrorism, domestic or ...

 

Tip of the day - how many CC'r travel & carry a first aid/trauma kit as part of one's EDC if caught in such sad & tragic incident.
