Britbrie Posted August 26, 2015 Author #51 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Mom went with the Spinach Salad and the shrimp/lobster Dad and I both chose the prime rib Once again, dinner was really slow... so I started entertaining myself with taking random pics. Dessert came out... We decided to go back to the room to change our clothes before the show. Once we got down to the Amber Palace, we found our seats and watched the Playlist Production: Divas. It was a really good show! Much better than the previous shows they used to have. After the show was over, we decided to go to the comedy club where we saw Valarie Storm. She was hilarious! It was a little after midnight when we decided to go to bed... Overall the day at Sea was relaxing, and we were super excited for St. Thomas! Up Next: St. Thomas, St. John, and the prettiest beach pictures ever.

Britbrie Posted August 27, 2015 Author #55 Share Posted August 27, 2015 We woke up this morning and we were creeping slowly to dock in St. Thomas. Everyone got up, and we headed up to the Lido deck for breakfast. I stuck with my standard breakfast burrito. After breakfast, we went back to our room to get our beach bag ready. I stepped out on the balcony and shot some pictures.
Britbrie Posted August 27, 2015 Author #56 Share Posted August 27, 2015 Around 10:30 am, they made the announcements that we could get off of the ship. We walked down to meet our boat at the end of the pier. One thing I really liked about the Glory, was that they put out a tent with a rug/chairs as well as water out by the gangway. These ports were really hot, so it was a nice gesture to take care of guests. We were met by a boat at the end of the pier, and were informed it would be about a 45 minute ride to St. John. Along the way they made an announcement that the bar was open, and they would be selling snacks/drinks. They also gave us information about the various sights we saw. Britbrie Posted August 27, 2015 Author #57 Share Posted August 27, 2015 Once we arrived to St. John, we boarded open air taxis and were told it would be a short ride to get to Trunk Bay. The driver stopped periodically to allow us to take pictures of the scenery... and I'm sooooo glad that he did. Helloooo gorgeous... That my friends, is a picture of Trunk Bay located in St. John. It is worth going on the excursion just to get pictures of. For real.
Britbrie Posted August 27, 2015 Author #58 Share Posted August 27, 2015 We also made stops at several other beaches... Once at Trunk Bay, they brought us through the Park and gave us a brief introduction/the time to come back. They had a small shop, bar, and a bbq shack that you could purchase lunch at. The seagulls were quick to grab people's food... Although this beach was no Half Moon Cay, it was equally as nice. We stayed in the water for a couple of hours before we had to head back to the taxi. At Trunk Bay, they also have a coral reef that you can swim around. They rent out snorkeling gear, or you can bring your own. Dad went and snorkeled, and said he saw a lot of different fish. If you choose to snorkel, they do have a lifeguard on the beach watching the area, as it is slightly deeper. Overall Trunk Bay was beautiful! It was definitely worth the trip!!! Britbrie Posted August 27, 2015 Author #59 Share Posted August 27, 2015 We gathered our stuff, and used the outdoor showers to rinse the sand off before getting back on the taxi. While waiting for the other guests on the excursion with us, we noticed our taxi driver grab a machete from the cab of the truck and open a coconut for another driver... I mean, its not everyday your cab driver whips out a giant knife... On our way back to the boat, we stopped for one last time to take pictures of Trunk Bay As well as other sights... Once we were back from St. John, the boat dropped us off at the end of the pier again. We have visited St. Thomas several times before, so no one was interested in going out of the cruise port. We got back on the ship and took a few last pictures of the island.

Britbrie Posted August 27, 2015 Author #65 Share Posted August 27, 2015 Did you do the excursion through the ship or on your own? That's my question too! If you booked it on your own, who did you go through? Sorry y'all, I should've made that clearer! I was trying to rush update in between cleaning the house/doing laundry! The excursion was booked through Carnival. It was $69.99 a person (adult), and definitely worth it. The excursion was called the St. John Trunk Bay Beach and Snorkel Trails. Although you only get like 2ish hours at the beach, it is an awesome experience. The boat ride on the way to Trunk Bay is also really cool because you get to pass other islands, and see a lot of St. Thomas as well. This will be my second time to St. Thomas.....love it!! St. Thomas is an awesome place!! Did you do Magen's Bay last time? I love that beach as well!
mulan1123 Posted August 27, 2015 #66 Share Posted August 27, 2015 St. Thomas is an awesome place!! Did you do Magen's Bay last time? I love that beach as well! We did an island tour. It was awesome! It was an open bus and went to different places. We stopped at this huge store where they had the famous banana daquiris. The most delicious banana daquiri ever! I'd take taxi there just to get one again!! Lol

Rare pirate4me2 Posted August 29, 2015 #71 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Ah, now I don't know what to do in St Thomas on our cruise next March! I was thinking Magens Bay, but your excursion looks wonderful!
Britbrie Posted August 29, 2015 Author #72 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Ah, now I don't know what to do in St Thomas on our cruise next March! I was thinking Magens Bay, but your excursion looks wonderful! Sorry about that! lol. My advice would be to go to Magens Bay if you want to spend a LONG time at the beach, and if you want to see a lot more/spend 2 hours at the beach go on this excursion. I feel like Trunk Bay is prettier than Magens Bay, but that is just my opinion! I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time no matter what you pick! Britbrie Posted August 29, 2015 Author #73 Share Posted August 29, 2015 By this point, we were back on the ship, and were getting kind of hungry. Mom and I went up to the Lido deck, and got some lunch. Mom chose to get a Turkey sandwich from the deli, while I went with a... Guy's Burger!! (obviously, they are addicting!). After we ate, I was on the quest to get one of those cute little blowfish cups from the bar. We walked all over the Lido to find out that they were out of them... on the 4th day of the cruise!! So, I settled for this guy: Not the blowfish, but it'll work. I ordered a Kiss on the Lips, and it was WAY too sweet! Usually they are really good, but not this time. After getting my drink, we went to get ready for dinner. Everyone got their usual appetizers, shrimp cocktail or a salad. So, there aren't any pictures of them at this point. For an entree, Mom got the BBQ Pork Spare Ribs. I ordered the chateaubriand, and it was nothing special at all. No seasoning, or anything! The polenta on the side was loaded with black olives, which I hate... so all around I didn't eat much of it. Dad ordered fish again.
Britbrie Posted August 29, 2015 Author #74 Share Posted August 29, 2015 Desserts: Mom and dad both got the sugar free cake: I ordered the s'mores parfait, which was very good. After dinner, we went to the Motor City show in the Amber Palace. The show was pretty good, everyone really enjoyed the new Playlist Productions! There wasn't much going on around the ship, as we were arriving in Puerto Rico pretty early. We decided to go to bed after checking out the casino for a few minutes. Up next: Puerto Rico!!
