I didn't see it mentioned, but if you gamble, the casino is a great place to meet and talk to people. :)

And if you do not gamble you can still watch the tables and mill about talking to people. Alternatively ask how you play the game, that's an hour talking if you ask for craps to be explained.

I did 2 cruises alone.. My first time was Alaska, 2 years ago. My husband was

called away for work, 3 days before the cruise.

I had 2 choices: stay home or walk to the pier and embark that Century Cruise Ship.... so I did. I had a great time, meet a lot of nice people and was

out and about for the 7 days of the cruise.

The second time was just about the same story...husband called away for

work... I booked a cruise from L.A. to Vancouver (7 days) flew to L.A. and

cruise back home.

Like the other posting says: if you can manage your luggage and you look like

you are at ease, you will have a good time, Go for it and enjoy.

You request a LARGE table at dinner....and be friendly at any event, pool, etc...that you attend! Other than that, I don't know! There are LOTS of friendly folks...just be open to anything! Go to your Roll Call...and make friends before you sail....onboard, just be willing to talk to anyone.

Personally, I think you're brave. I have no desire to sail (or vacation) alone. Have you no friends that could accompany you? I'd be asking my buddies!!! I'm in my 60's and wouldn't want to do an "alone" thing.

Wow! Am I the only one who finds this incredibly insensitive?

No, you are definitely not the only one.

It is beyond insensitive. I hope for her sake, she is blessed for her partner to always be by her side.

:confused:will i be alone by myself if i am cruising alone on a cruise i am 67 and a widow from south carolina and book a single cabin. i would not know how to meet anyone

If you can share what ship and what date, when you decide to book, we can show you where to begin communicating with the others who will be on the cruise also.

On one of my October cruises there are several ladies, also traveling alone, who have already planned a lunch together to get to know each other.
