shadbrew Posted August 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) Has anyone stayed in Cabin 8224 on the Allure? On the deck plans, it looks like they are behind some restaurants and/or shops. How noisy would this be? Is Cabin 8222 and 8224 the same size? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to stay midship to minimize motion sickness. shadbrew Posted August 31, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted August 31, 2015 8222 and 8224 are the same size. What about the location of these cabins close to shops and restaurants?
Clarea Posted August 31, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2015 What about the location of these cabins close to shops and restaurants? You are actually separated from the Central Park venues by space and a wall. You are not as close as it looks on the deck plan. I would have no concerns about excess noise in your location. dacsmom Posted August 31, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2015 Those cabins are very quiet and close to Central Park. I would book that deck again, it is the best cabin location and close to everything I wanted to get to.
kalliekae Posted August 31, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2015 We always book deck 8. We've had cabins mid-ship and aft by Dazzles and never had noise. You will enjoy Deck 8.
momof5cruiseluvrs Posted September 1, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2015 So glad to hear this is a good deck. We have 4 cabins booked on it in November for our cruise.
bird67 Posted September 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 3, 2015 We have stayed on deck 8 twice in the "hump" cabins. I loved it, very close to the park café. Great location and very, very quiet.
Touristbay Posted September 6, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Sailed on the Allure from Barcelona in July and on many occasions did not even know we had left port as you don't feel the ship movement at all. I suffer badly from seasickness and never once had a problem on this ship.
trihawks1 Posted September 6, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 6, 2015 We are booked on Oasis Deck 8 and a D2 hump cabin. Hoping that ship movement is minimal...lol I have vertigo and usually try to book lower deck and as midship as possible. To me the "first" hump that doesn't have junior suites is a bit more forward than we are use to. So I am hoping Touristbay and bird67 can let me know if they think we will be okay. Deck 8 seems to be the popular choice for people and deck 6/7 hump cabins weren't available when we booked in January 2015. Thanks!
Touristbay Posted September 7, 2015 #11 Share Posted September 7, 2015 We were in a 'hump' balcony cabin, mid ship on deck 11. No matter where we were I never felt any movement. Strangely I kind of missed this as it didn't feel as if you were at sea at all. Although the ship is big, everything that you need is very central so I don't think it matters where you are. Also good to burn off a few calories after all the cocktails if you have to go from one end to another.
