Cas is all over the place.

Last September on the Getaway we spent quite a bit of time in this casino. Had comped drinks etc.

4 mos later we sailed the Sky which was part of a BOGO free cruise. We checked our points at that casino. Nada...everything had been reset. We also got no free drinks. We did not play or spend as much in the casino as before.

2 mos after that cruise we get a card in the mail from CAS comping us for the Aug 8th sailing of the Getaway. By the time we worked out if we could do that date, they were full. No more cabins.

We call back a couple of weeks later and see if theres another cruise they're willing to comp. They check and say no, sorry. Your play doesn't warrant a comped cruise.

Another 2 weeks go by. Another card from CAS comes in the mail. A comped cruise on the jewel or 2 other ships but not the Getaway. We booked on the Jewel.

So how do they say no, you don't warrant a comp and then 2 weeks later give us another one?

Easy. When you call, they look at YOUR play. You either merit or don't.

Marketing periodically pulls demographic data (past players, income level, cruise history, etc.) and sends out mass mailings of flyers.

First come / first served for these types of trips. I generally ignore these, because they're practically a guarantee that the casino will be full.

I much prefer to pick my trip, then get my offer.

What if you're sitting alone at a table, which normally deals a hand every 45 seconds. You hmmm & haw at each hand, and make small-talk with the dealer....then periodically stop playing for a few minutes. The clock is still ticking, but the house isn't taking its edge for those minutes. You could fairly easily cut 1/3 of the hands being dealt in an hour. With hands-dealt, the casino puts itself back on an even level.

I usually accumulate 1500 or so points in my first day, or by noonish on the 2nd day.

It's not that much.

Speaking to Cas at Sea every 5$ gives you one point and you don.t think 1500 points is a lot ??you get that in a day ??.........ok

Obviously I am not exactly in your league ...we.re talking over 5 gs in 2 days gambling .....yikes

That must be why my comped cruises are the mass mailing ones....

What some people don't seem to understand is that it does not mean that the person playing the slot machine took all that money out of their pocket to put through the machine.

You can take $100.00 out of your pocket and put it in the slot machine. You win $300.00 and you play that $300.00 instead of cashing it out and you win another $200.00 and you play that $200.00 instead of cashing it out and you win another $100.00 and you play that $100.00 instead of cashing it out, etc. etc. etc. With my example above you would have put through a total of $700.00 just at that one machine.....of which ONLY $100.00 came out of your pocket.

Again....that's PLAY, not SPEND.

Say I'm playing Three Card Poker. I take $500 in chips.

Hand 1: nothing. Played $15. Loss $15 Total play $15 Total loss $15

Hand 2: pair. Played $15. Loss $0 Gain $15 Total Play $30 Total loss $0

Hand 3: pair. Played $15. Loss $0 Gain $15 Total play $45 Total loss $0 Total gain $15

Hand 4: nothing. Play $15. Loss $15. Gain 0 Total play $60 Total loss $0

So after four hands, I'm exactly even, but I have $60 in play. That play probably took 3.5 - 4 minutes for 4 hands.

83 * 4 minutes = 5 hours..... and 83 * $60 = $5,000

So basically you can get 1,000 points in 5 hours playing $15 / hand, without losing a penny.

Does that make sense?

Stephen

P.S. SuiteCruiser....I'm certain we'll cross paths! :)
