desertmoon Posted September 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2015 Not sure which tour we'll take, but at some point we'd like to find a good lunch spot in the vicinity of the pier. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help
ReggaeRoy Posted September 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2015 We like Miss T's Kitchen. Right downtown. Good selection of foods. Good service.

Thanks for your help I don't know about location from the pier, but I highly recommend Scotchies for an authentic Jamaican experience! They have jerk chicken cooked outside with outside dining. CaroleSS Posted September 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Ok, so I have the same question! We have researched both Miss T's and Scotchies. We are on a tight timeline and I've read that Miss T's is very slow. I've also read that the workers at Scotchies are 'curt' and service can also be quite slow. While I understand "island time", we'd rather spend our time doing rather than waiting for food. Does anyone have any reassuring words or should we look elsewhere? ReggaeRoy Posted September 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2015 Miss T's Kitchen tends to be a bit slow because all food is cooked to order. Scotchie's has a much smaller menu and the food is almost always ready right away. It's fun watching the guys cook and chop up your food.

I think Scotchies really depends on how many people are eating there that day. We stood in line for maybe 5 minutes with 5 people in front of us and we're able to pick up our food as we moved by the counter where we ordered. Just keep in mind it is outside, you don't really have a server and it's very low key. On that note, I'm taking three guests there in November because it's authentic and I feel it's a "must do" on a first, if not every, visit.
