luvscruising2007 Posted September 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2015 I have recently been watching Carol Burnett re-runs. At the beginning of the show she comes out to talk to the audience and wears beautiful gowns. And, guess what, many have pockets. What a concept. When are dress designers going to wake-up and realize women like pockets too. Just something fun to think about.

luvscruising2007 Posted September 10, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Bob Mackie at his finest. Yes, absolutely. I am sorry I forgot to mention his name as I had intended to do that.
Hoyaheel Posted September 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2015 It's much easier to find work dresses that have pockets than it was 5 years ago! Haven't been buying formal wear, so can't attest to that. One of my faves for work (and it travels so well!) is the ponte sheath dress from Lands End. GMRPHRN Posted September 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Oh, this is one of my peeves! I have many casual dresses and skirts, too, without pockets. Designers wouldn't dream of making men's jackets or pants without pockets but I have pants without them, too. I like to sometimes just carry my phone and keys and id and I hate not having pockets. Unfortunately, I don't use this as criteria when picking out my clothes. :(

I agree and plan to take a couple of my LE dresses for the more casual nights on our February cruise. Thanks for the reminder.

I am going to check out Lands End. I use wristlets on board, but it would be nice to just stuff my key card in a pocket.
