trixiegal Posted September 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Has anyone stayed in this hotel? According to Yelp, it used to be the Amsterdam Hotel. I'm curious about anyone's recent experiences here. It looks like a trendy hipster boutique hotel but reviews on Trip Advisor are mixed. I got a great deal and I'm super excited to spend my birthday in New Orleans this year.
trixiegal Posted September 23, 2015 Author #2 Share Posted September 23, 2015 Bumping up this thread to see if anyone has any feedback for me. I would have to cancel today if I decide not to stay here and I'm still a little curious about this "newish"hotel.
Rare Saint Greg Posted September 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2015 I've never stayed there but I saw it on priceline recently. It looks pretty cool. Let us know how it is if you do stay there. http://www.priceline.com/hotel/hotelOverviewGuide.do?jsk=544a200a464a200a201509231837122bf011649540&numberOfRooms=1&from=rateSelectionDirect&propID=48678&noDates=Y

trixiegal Posted September 30, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) The hotel was as close to perfect as it could get for the price I paid! Two nights for under $280 and we had a 2 Queen bed Premium room. It was very spacious, clean, super comfy beds and decorated with a cool hipster and artsy vibe. The bathroom was nice with rainfall shower but very small. Close the door before using the toilet or it won't shut kind of small. The restaurant downstairs in the lobby, Compere Lapin, is actually headed by a recent Top Chef alum, Nina. She was in the kitchen when we had apps and a drink there one afternoon! The front desk staff were so personable, professional and went out of their way to make my birthday weekend special. When we called and asked for anything it was total service with a huge smile. I was sad to leave after 2 nights. We were right off Poydra and could see Harrah's from the front of the hotel, so it's in the right location for a pre- or post-cruise hotel.
