Just back from another fabulous week on the GEM! We have sailed her many times and it's great to be back and see so many familiar faces.

Service was exceptional as usual and it was a very relaxing enjoyable trip. We did mostly specialty restaurants this trip, not intentional just worked out that way with meeting new friends and keeping up with old ones.

Leo was there and there was a new piano player, at least for me, named Taylor. both were very good. We did not go to the shows as we've seen them before plus our dinner time did not work for getting there.

Casino was busy and was good to me but no DH. I play Let it Ride, and he puts it all in the slots

If anyone has any specific questions, ask away and I will do my best to answer them.

Is Captain lars Bengtsson and Staff Captain Zeljko Jurac still on board?

Our Captain was Karl Staffen Bengtsson, I did not get the name of the Staff Captain. I'm not sure how much longer he will be on the Gem, but I do know he will be off in December based upon a conversation with him.

MEH56 - Can you tell me if the Garden Café is carpeted...thinking of booking a mini that is located under it...Is there a coffee bar and is it free

Reply - Sorry auto quote didn't work.

Parts of the garden cafe are carpeted and others are not. My suggestion is you book on the Port side mid to aft. We were in 11600 once and never heard any noise from above. Occasionally from the balcony we could hear music but that was it. I believe we were under the La Cucina kitchen, and they are only open in the evenings so never any issues.

Before booking be sure to check out the deck plans above. While I love totally aft balconies I would stay away from them on deck 11 as the great outdoors is right above and there you will hear noise and chair scraping all day, and then deck cleaning in the wee hours of the morning:eek:

We were on the same one as you. We probably even saw each other lol. This was our first time on NCL and it was amazing!! We had such a blast. My 3 year old twins loved the camp and so did we. The service was amazing, food great and everyone was so friendly. Hoping to try the breakaway in May.

Twinmommy37 - Glad you also had a great time. Too bad you didn't join our roll call, we had a great group and lots of fun. Even a cabin crawl to see the various cabins available.

I probably did see you unless there were more than one couple with twin strollers :D

Oh no :(( I was so busy with packing for the trip and everything that I didn't even think to join in on that. That is a shame we missed it.

My son was the one who walked around with the bandaid on his chin lol. He fell in the bathtub the second day and cut it open. The medical staff was amazing.
