Kechin Yer Eye Posted September 16, 2015 #26 Share Posted September 16, 2015 Just off the Dream and had no problems getting to the smoking areas other than when we first got on. Headed straight to the casino bar as there was no outside smoking while the refueling process is going on. Only half of the casino bar is smoking, and it was packed. We just stood by a few folks at the bar, had a smoke and then we were off & running to find our room. Deck 5 has a very nice area right outside Ocean Plaza, port side (directly in the middle of the ship), it is completely covered has lots of tables & chairs. There are also lots of lounge chairs all along the port side of Deck 5 where you can smoke. There was a very nice young man that kept the area fairly clean and the ashtrays emptied. We tipped him at the end of the cruise. Deck 11 has starboard side smoking. Back in the Aft section of Deck 11 were more tables & chairs and LOTS of lounge chairs where smoking was permitted. The table & chairs area was covered and it was a great view of the aft pool and the wake of the ship. It was always fairly windy up there, but we met some great people in that location. The same people generally tended to gather in that particular location. The area was not kept as clean & tidy as the Deck 5 smoking section and I never saw the same person cleaning that area like we did on Deck 5, but yet it wasn't filthy by any means. In the casino I would guess that about 80% of the slot machines have a little sign on them that suggests you can smoke while the other 20% have a sign that promotes no smoking. It was sometimes hard to find an ashtray in the casino. I have a portable pocket ashtray that I always kept with me while on the ship. It came in handy several times. soccersharon Posted September 17, 2015 #30 Share Posted September 17, 2015 Never encountered anyone I didn't like while smoking in the designated areas. If anything, we tend to be pretty social !

Smokers are very friendly. I no longer smoke but I always enjoyed being around smokers. I would never complain about anyone smoking- I know how they feel having more and more taken away. AZ_Trace_Fan Posted September 17, 2015 #34 Share Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) I was on the Conquest a few weeks ago. The smoking area on Deck 10 is very nice, spacious and comfortable. Spent time there with a group on the comfy couches, also spent time alone in a deck chair reading and getting some sun. There were bar waiters there a lot taking drink orders and keeping it clean. There is also a smoking bar on Deck 9 by the Punchliner club, in the casino, in the nightclub and on Deck 3. Smoking is not allowed on the balconies. DoubleDGenerationX Posted September 17, 2015 #37 Share Posted September 17, 2015 I was on the Conquest cruise September 5 to 12. I always smoked on my balcony, never in the stateroom. In a thread I made a few days ago someone had mentioned that they were on deck 10 and got harassed by an officer because someone complained about smoke. I was on deck 9 and would smoke often on the balcony, especially if some buddies came over to my stateroom, we all would smoke. My apologies for causing issues that day with the smoke. On my next cruise I won't be smoking on my balcony. It was never my intent to cause an issue with the smoke. I don't get how the officers couldn't pinpoint the exact floor by peering out of the bridge. The windows stuck out so they could see all the way down the sides of the ship. All they had to do was look out the left drivers side of the bridge towards the back of the ship and they could see where the plume of smoke was coming from. Otherwise I don't recommend smoking in non designated areas. Run the risk of a fine and also inconvenience other guests in my instance. I'm not the only one who smoked on the balconies. 2 cabins on deck 8 below me would have frequent plumes of smoke especially at night. Their ashes would fly up in front of my balcony and sometimes into my balcony or the one next to me, even deck 10 on a few occasions. I think all ships have problems with smoking in non designated areas. No one gets caught is all it boils down to.
crusinpsychRN Posted February 10, 2016 Author #38 Share Posted February 10, 2016 What about Sunshine? Is deck 3 port still a smoking area as stated on Carnival's pdf of smoking areas?
DDNY Posted February 10, 2016 #39 Share Posted February 10, 2016 What about Sunshine? Is deck 3 port still a smoking area as stated on Carnival's pdf of smoking areas? It was when I was on the Sunshine last week. Although in the PDF someone posted I think the area on Deck 10 is now actually on the opposite side....... I don't smoke, but DW does. On the Conquest class ships there is a nice smoking lounge that is seldom crowded on the rear port side of the ship right outside the Comedy Club. johnlisac Posted February 10, 2016 #41 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Carnival has designated areas for smoking. If it's bothers you or makes you sick then DON'T GO TO THESES AREAS!! See problem solved. Have a nice day Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk

oumagic Posted February 10, 2016 #43 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Has any cigar/pipe smokers been on the Miracle recently? The Funtimes seems to indicate a completely different area than the FAQ's at carnival website. If so, how is the new area?
boopsahoy Posted February 10, 2016 #44 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Just got off Sunshine. Smoking areas on Deck 10, above Lido pool/behind big screen and Port side Deck 3. Everyone was friendly. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk Thanks for the info! Where is smoking allowed inside on Sunshine besides the casino? I know on the Splendor it was in the Jazz Club... I know on the Splendor it was in the Jazz Club... According to info I've seen the casino is the only inside smoking area on Sunshine. And for cigar smokers there is no inside area at all. The Funtimes seems to indicate a completely different area than the FAQ's at carnival website. If so, how is the new area? Just got off the Miracle on January 31. My husband is the smoker here but he doesn't smoke cigars or pipes... but I DO have the FunTimes. It says: "Note: Cigars and pipes are only allowed outside on Deck 9 & 10 Starboard side Fwd." Deck 9 is Lido. Smoking was allowed near the Forward pool. We did notice some cigar smokers. You were able to smoke at the tables and chairs near the windows; I think the loungers were off limits to smokers but not positive. It could get a little chilly there in January. Bar service was excellent! Deck 10 overlooked the Lido and it was way too windy to smoke up there most of the time. When the wind wasn't bad they had loungers but that was all; bar service was spotty. If you need to know anything else, let me know!
