Premier cruise info

This is my issue: I can book a 6 day cruise with some casino credit that fits easily into our schedule or an 8 day premier cruise for double the 6 day cruise cost with a$600 casino credit that will require some juggling with our plans. My issue is not the difference in the cost as the 2 extra days and the higher casino cash on the premier cruise makes the price difference between the two cruises almost a wash. My problem has to do with the effort it will take to rearrange our original plans. Would it be worth the effort? Are premier cruises that much better than regular cruises? As you can tell I have not taken advantage of prior premier cruise offerings so I would really like to hear what people who have taken them think.

Thanks

I would do it! But as to whether it's "worth the effort," only you can decide that.

My past two have been my first two Premier cruises. I "only" get a discounted rate (and not all that cheap, especially since I've been solo), and "only" $300 casino cash. Next cruise is a "regular" cruise, but my Sunshine Journeys cruise on 11/28 is another Premier and I talked someone into joining me, so that made it very affordable.

The Drinks-on-Us card has made a big difference in my S&S bill at the end of the cruise. I still buy a drink here and there around the ship but no longer buy a wine package to have at dinner. I didn't even carry on a bottle last time. I just get ready for dinner, swing by the casino, sit down and have a glass of wine within a few minutes and take it to dinner.

I used to play slots only, but have played Roulette on those two and really enjoyed myself. Even came home with a wad of cash last time (which never happens!!). :D

The drawings are nice (although I never win but everyone who sits near me seems to!). I've won small amounts in other games/drawings.

There are other gifts, too. Lots of descriptions of events and goodies in the other threads (should be easy to find with a search of this board).

A premier cruise for someone who doesn't gamble is just like a regular cruise. You get the casino cash (which they give you actual cash that you don't have to gamble), free drinks card if you drink, no 3% fee on your S&S so no need to carry lots of cash, bunch of drawings, free tournaments, and the little gifts in your room. Depending on your tastes, this can seem like just a regular cruise or something with a few extra perks.

I think you should try the premier casino cruise once to see how you like it. The activities are fun. The casino cash is nice. The perks are worthwhile. It is a lot of fun if you enjoy time in the casino because with the exception of the welcome aboard cocktail party, all the other events are inside the casino. You have to be present to win. And you could get an invitation next year to the Ultra Premier cruise(s).

The down side: the casino will be more crowded than usual and much smokier than usual if that is an issue to you.

Hope you enjoy your cruise.

I would contact the casino department first. You may already qualify for a DOU card on your 6 day cruise (the non-premier one).

If you do, I'd say it may not be worth switching.

On my premier cruise I found the casino very crowded and with more aggressive players (I mean, duh I should have known that). The couple of gifts we received were nice as was the welcome aboard cocktail party. I just don't think it was nice "enough" to justify switching around my plans.
