Rare Beamafar Posted September 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2015 MSC Cruises has announced its 2016-2017 South America program, and will reduce tonnage from five ships to four ships as the MSC Musica, Armonia, Orchestra and Preziosa are all scheduled to sail in the region. This coming season, the company will sail the Splendida, Magnifica, Lirica, Armonia and Poesia in South America. The shuffle of ships, and the subtraction of one from the South American market sees the company building up in Asia and Cuba. In China, the Lirica will sail year-round, while the Opera will call Cuba home seasonally. In South America for 2016-2017, MSC will operate some 73 total sailings, with the highlight being the Preziosa’s arrival, which is the newest ship in the line's fleet. “The advanced news allows us to reaffirm our commitment to the Brazilian market,” said Roberto Fusaro, Director General of MSC Cruises in South America, in a prepared statement. “However, problems and bottlenecks found in (the market) - operational, tax and bureaucratic - have hampered the sustainable growth of our business in the country.”
