balf Posted September 27, 2015 #26 Share Posted September 27, 2015 AnnieUK - quote not working! On the Azura cruise mentioned earlier, we got a refund from P & O of the fare representing the 2 days missed - we had paid for a 14 night cruise and got a 12 night cruise. And we have been offered 10% of the fare paid off a future cruise. But no actual compensation as such, nor any OBC. So the insurance company payout was welcome - particularly as we deliberately chose that cruise for the Naples stop (for Capri)...it went someway towards the disappointment factor. My premium could well go up next time having made a claim I am sure but we wont actually know....and it certainly wont go up by that much! So what they offered was not cash but a discount on a later cruise that you may not even take. And 10% of what? The full cruise price? Like " this discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer" As to refunds given, they have no obligation to give anything and £100 of OBC costs them little and is just to keep passengers quiet. natross1110 Posted September 27, 2015 #27 Share Posted September 27, 2015 I haven't bought mine yet but insure & go seem ok. It looks like £50 per port up to a maximum of £300 per cruise. I'm buying for a family with no current health issues and it's about £120 for the trip. I've been under insured before and never even knew so I'm not taking chances this time. groovechick Posted September 28, 2015 #28 Share Posted September 28, 2015 My policy with insurancewith also covers "cancellation of a scheduled port visit due to adverse weather conditions or timetable restrictions and no alternative port can be offered." £100 per port up to a max. of £500. Hope I will never need to use it, but IMHO good to have.
