Book Solo or TBTguest

Throwing around the possibility of booking an Alaskan cruise tonight and brother says, maybe we will join you. Mom and I have casino rates - brother does not. Thinking of booking two cabins (Me & SIL - brother & Mom). If they decide not to go just cancel Mom's booking and move her to mine.

What is the best way to book. Or does it matter. Both Me and Mom book solo, or we both book with the option of naming the 2nd passenger later?

If you book solo (with 3 for 3 and reduced deposit) do you have to put $200 for the deposit or is it still $100 per person?

Thanks for any help!
