I am amused by the repeated description of Explorer as a behemoth. While somewhat larger than the Voyager and Mariner, by todays standards for cruise ships, the Explorer is pretty small (and we like it that way).

 

226,000 tons (RCCL Harmony of the Seas) is a behemoth. 56,000 tons is downright petite!

 

What is far more telling is the displacement/pax ratio which equates to spaciousness:

Harmony of the Seas: 226,000 tons/5200 pax= 43.5 tons/pax

Regent Explorer: 56,000 tons/750 pax= 74.5 tons/pax

I think the comments are mostly hilariously ignorant or envious. Aside from the radical crazies who would consign us all to ride bicycles everywhere and eat gluten-free tofu, sautéed insects, and water recycled from our own waste...
