Oriana cabin choice

Hello everyone, this is my first post ever on any Forum. Will try to stick with correct protocol, time will improve my posts.

Usually go inside cabin, the dark helps our sleep problems.

Planning 2 cruises, May 16 Oriana and Early 17 Carribean, not sure which ship yet.

A balcony or de-luxe balcony will be our choice for Oriana,18 nights.

Partly to celebrate our retirement and 2 days in Venice.

Who needs sleep when you have Venice to admire.

Question is, What Balcony cabin would you recommend?

Hi and welcome! I too have only had outside on Otisna, but I wanted to let you now that the curtains in balcony cabins are usually 'blackout' do it's fairly dark. I too like the dark of inside and can sleep forever in them [emoji42]

If you check deck plan you will notice that Oriana has very few balcony cabins. With only 7 months to go I would be suprised if there are any available.

 

Do this on the P & O website as the ones on this site are outdated and pre refit.

I assume you are looking at X606.

Only deluxe balconies left now

Deck B are the glass fronted ones. As there are so few of them they tend to be more expensive per cabin, than lets say Arcadia, which has tons of glass fronted balconies. It is also the best deck to go for,to my mind.

The balconies above and below are cut outs (metal fronted ones).

Select minus the OBS only works out approx. £100 more than the early saver, and you get to chose your cabin and dining time.

I haven't been on Oriana (yet, booked X612) but there are very few balconies and thus they are very expensive, relatively.

 

I have got the impression through forums such as this that Oriana works well for sunbathers ; I think there is plenty of sunbathing space on the angular decks ? - and that the fight for sunbeds doesn't occur (possibly because it's an adults only ship as well).
