Rare crewsweeper Posted October 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2015 Punta Sur--lighthouse and eco park (admission charge); East side beaches--if hungry stop at Paradise Café (also called Bob Marley's or Rasta Bar--can't miss it), or Playa Bonita or Chen Rio for really good local seafood. If thirsty, just grab a quick drink and take in the view at Coconuts (highest point on the island, but food is mediocre, IMO). Then take the transversal road back to town, stopping at the Tequila Factory/Museum for a tour. If time swing by the San Gervasio ruins, but not necessary unless you're an archeologist fanatic. Then once in town go by the KaoKao Chocolate Factory for a tour and treat.
c-leg5 Posted October 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2015 I assume since you have already booked with ToursPlaza you have already been to their website and read their suggestions for different length tours? If not here is the link http://www.toursplaza.com/eng/hiring-driver.cfm 3 hours is plenty of time for an overview of the island - each stop will obviously add time and need to be factored in, for example how many photo, bar stops you make on the east side. Crew makes good suggestions above but you would need to pick which ones appeal to you - you would not have time for all. Also chocolate tour only runs at certain times. If you let Eduardo know you are interested, he can sometimes arrange a time for you in advance. We intended to do a 3 - 4 hour tour our first time but ended up with nearer 5! We visited Palancar, Punta Sur and lighthouse, photo stops on east side and lunch stop, quick tour of town.
Rare sid_9169 Posted October 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2015 If you've never been there, the East side of Cozumel is the place to go... The beach bars on the "other side" are much better than the mass market places near the piers...

Thanks for your help.
