Carriage ride, zoo

We will be in Nassau is Jan. with our adult children and 3 toddler grandchildren. We are considering a carriage ride and/or the zoo. Has anyone done the carriage ride lately? What is the cost and what did you see?

We took a carriage ride to the zoo. Next time will take a taxi as the carriage ride was too fast and bumpy.

 

The Ardastra Gardens and Zoo was a good excursion. The website has good photos.

Did you see anything on the way to the zoo or was it just transportation? How did you get back?

It was a new form of transportation for us, but in too much traffic!

 

The Ardastra Gardens and Zoo is an enjoyable place to go to by taxi. They have Marching Flamingo shows.

 

For touring Nassau, we prefer a taxi to specific sites. There are also some bus tours.

Personally, I would skip the carriage ride and just go to the zoo. Try to time your visit with one of the lorry parrot feedings. That is a lot of fun. :)

We walked to the zoo. It is about a mile and a half, but there are stretches where there aren't many people. We never felt worried or threatened, but next time I would take the #10 bus--much quicker and very easy.

We enjoyed ourselves there and we are 2 seniors. Kids will love it, especially for the parrot feeding and parade of the flamingos. Just be aware, it isn't very large and I would say the most amount of time one could spend there is about 2-3 hours.

We did the carriage ride this week. The cost was 40.00 but quickly went down to 30.00. We enjoyed the ride.
