maria1963 Posted October 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2015 Hi we are uk based and are thinking of a trip to Mexico combined with a cruise for a week. So fly uk to wherever, pick up the ship, cruise a week then a week in Riviera Maya then fly back from there. Is this trip even possible . Can you disembark a ship in Mexico. This is the way round we want to do it so we relax and do nothing the second week! Any info appreciated. We're thinking about it for 2017!

But there are many cruises that port in Cozumel (close to Riviera Maya). Sometimes a cruise will allow someone to debark at an earlier port, but that has to be arranged separately with the cruise line. You'll still pay full price for the cruise, however. Such arrangements need to be made ahead of time with the cruise line (and it's often not allowed). Edited October 11, 2015 by Shmoo here
Cruisin' Chick Posted October 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2015 The cruise line would have to approve (and have the facilities at that port). You might also have to check with authorities in Mexico too. Usually tourists entering Mexico would be clear at the US border or at a major airport. When you're getting off a cruise ship, it's with the understanding that you're there for a brief time (the port stop). You won't want to run afoul of any laws with your plans. cb at sea Posted October 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2015 You will have to fly to a US port for the cruise, and return to that US port...then fly to Mexico for your week's land vacation, then you can certainly fly home from Mexico.
