Perfectionistcruiser Posted October 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Very sad to advise that this talented member of S S Expedition Team has passed away. RIP Chris, you were a very special and hugely respected lecturer and travel companion to many of us on the Expedition ships, remembered with great affection. Rare jpalbny Posted October 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Oh gosh...very sorry to hear this! Chris was on one of our Expedition cruises but I can't remember with 100% certainty which one. I think it was the most recent one 2 years ago, through the Panama Canal on Silver Explorer. I do remember enjoying his company. He will be missed. Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2015 He was just wonderful. He was on our Alaska cruise on the discoverer. Brilliant guy, acerbic wit. I have pictures of him picking up a piece of glacier ice, he dared us to taste it. Only some did. I enjoyed his lectures. I think I recall his dad was or is a neurosurgeon. So sorry to learn of his death. If anyone has further information I would like to express my condolences.
Rare spinnaker2 Posted October 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Upon discussing Chris with DrSpin, he recalled Chris told him his dad had written some controversial books, one about the poisoning of a woman who's family was Stanford. The result was an attempt by the University to suppress the book, because Chris' Dad was on faculty at Stanford. DrSpin recalls that Chris' Dad was neurologist, not a surge on. Peter&Kathy Posted October 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2015 We have sailed with Chris on numerous occasions and will miss his wit and wildlife knowledge. The expedition industry lost a good one.
