trixie54 Posted April 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Are there better months to cruise Tahiti than others?

PattyCruise Posted April 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2004 The rainy season is Nov-March but it is the tropics so it can rain anytime. We were on the March 8 cruise which was perfect weather. We do like to travel to the tropics when it is cold here. We are going in 2006 in September so we can see the whales. It is the best place I have ever been. We have traveled twice now. Have a great time. Bucky3 Posted April 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2004 We were there in 1992 in September-October. Weather was great.
Zouave Posted April 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Learned alot about Tahiti climate before we made decision to go in January. This is the "rainy" season in Tahiti but it is also the "low" season for tourists. We got rained on hard for two days in second week in January but the rest of the time it was great. We stayed an extra two days in Bora Bora after the cruise and our hotel (Sofitel Motu) was almost deserted. It was perfect as there were no crowds, great weather, and specialized service as we were the few who were there.
Rare MVPinBoynton Posted April 20, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Zouave, I didn't realize that the rainy season was low season. I figured that the warm climate would attract folks in from the cold climates. We are going in February. Hopefully, this will reduce the cost of the prestay. I sure haven't seen any good deals for air at any time. arlenemilt Posted April 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hi to our Boynton Beach neighbors. It sounds as if we've picked a good time for our Tahitian cruise. We're on the Pacific Princess, August/September. Only 4 months to go. Arlene
Rare MVPinBoynton Posted April 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Howdy neigbor, You will be going at a good time. Unfortunately we have 10 months to go; but when it gets here we sure will be ready. JohnLauben Posted April 20, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I cruised the STAR PRINCESS from LAX to SYD on 11/1/2003. Both French Polynesian ports (Bora Bora and Papeete) ... rained much of the time. Also rained in Pago Pago (American Samoa) a lot, and a bit in Suva (Fiji). No guarantees either way, but we were told that November was part of the rainy season.
ssbeagle Posted April 21, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 21, 2004 We went the first time in February on the TP's 5th cruise. The weather was beautiful and we just had a few rain showers. We are going again this November and hope we have good luck with little rain again. Grand Princess Tahitian Princess
Toto2Kansas Posted April 21, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 21, 2004 We have visited Tahiti in October, January X2 and November. October was by far the nicest weather we encountered. That is why we picked October of this year to go again. Tahitian October 14th,2004
