Coral princess suite S5 or S6

We have the choice of either a mid ship S5 suite on Dolphin deck (D421) or a further aft- suite S6 on Caribe deck (C704).

We would prefer the port side suite (C704) cruising down the California coast but think the mid ship suite (D421) would be best location wise ...easier to get to the International Cafe. and the forward 'Lido cafe ' better in rough seas etc.

Does anyone know if there is any real difference ? i.e. balcony covered more in one than the other ... noise difference?? size difference??? one deck better than the other???

It appears that the mid ship suite is a little more expensive (@ $ 200) but if it is better over all then that is OK.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

Its all about location re: the difference in price. ;)

Can't go wrong with either.

not really concerned about the difference in price....more concerned about having to swap the best view side for a better mid ship location....

if all else is equal I will go for the mid ship suite which I have on hold and get my TA to see if it can be swapped for the other suite we have already booked. Maybe there will not even be a increase in price...

I was more concerned about any differences between Dolphin and Caribe decks.

Too fare from land.

I rebooked with the mid ship suite...better to have a smoother cruise going down the Pacific Coast than perhaps being able to catch a glimpse of land on the way. I will miss seeing the San Francisco skyline but can always go top deck during our departure.

You don't say where you are cruising from and to, but whatever, IMHO, you did well to have the option of a mid-ship. We have D421 on our next cruise (albeit on Island) and had to book a year in advance to get it and the other three went within days of me booking.

The last time we had C704, again on Island, and decided D421 was worth the little bit extra. Both are half covered in shade and similar size. Much better than the ones aft on D deck whose balconies are totally covered.

Not sure if you are going through the canal, but if you are, then, in terms of side we prefer starboard, when going through the canal Pacific to Caribbean, and the port side when going Caribbean to Pacific. This is because the South American side of the canal is, IMHO more interesting, as the railway, the Chagres river, the small communities and the canal support infrastructure are on that side (the Gatun Dam is however on the other side).

You also get the wonderful Pacific sunsets.

no, we are only going down the California Coast but I agree we have done the Canal and your choices for which side to be on matched ours. For this short journey at least we will have the great sunsets and can also sleep a little later .

Have never been on the Coral or her sister ship mainly due to their casino being so close to the International Cafe . However, this time the other choice was the Grand and her reviews are not so good ...Much better Coral reviews.
