Adam Coulter Posted October 29, 2015 #101 Share Posted October 29, 2015 Booked for November, but I would appreciate your opinion about how similar the Escape is to the Getaway/Breakaway. I understand it is improved, but how so? Thanks! Hi I am going to direct you to my just published piece which looks at what I felt worked, and what doesn't so well: http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=2043 But in a nutshell, I'd say it is an improvement on the previous two: food, entertainment and bars are all up a notch. Editor Colleen Posted October 30, 2015 #102 Share Posted October 30, 2015 Hello! Thanks for the great questions here. We've loved all the great threads that have gone up on this board. We're excited about the newest ship at sea, too. Thanks for all you great posts and pictures. While our U.K. Editor Adam Coulter is now off the ship, we're working with Teijo Niemela, editor and publisher of Cruise Business Review, who is onboard Escape during its Atlantic crossing. Please continue to post your questions here, and Teijo will answer as time and Internet permits. (Please be patient; he might not answer immediately but promises to get back to you.) And stay tuned for Escape's debut Nov. 9-11 in Miami. Cruise Critic will be onboard to explore the ship and give you even more info. Cheers! missdixie Posted October 30, 2015 #103 Share Posted October 30, 2015 I am enjoying all the Escape threads. Really got a lot of info. Our cruise is Dec 5th. I hope to see a few Christmas decorations. Will they Have any that early? Sorry if this is already posted.
mvh Posted October 30, 2015 #104 Share Posted October 30, 2015 Question, Can someone who has actually had one, please confirm there are IPAs in the District please. I have heard there are 24 taps but on the tap menu there are no IPAs. However I have seen a picture of another board with an additional 12 tap with IPAs for only $4.99. Is this correct and do they keep changing? Does anyone really know?

The supplies out of Germany were somewhat limited from what I have read, and when they get to Miami, they will be fully stocked. I am sure that more Menu boards will be getting posted. mvh Posted October 30, 2015 #106 Share Posted October 30, 2015 Awesome, thanks so much. You can't even get them in a dive bar for $4.99.

batemangirls Posted October 30, 2015 #108 Share Posted October 30, 2015 Has anyone seen the aft balconies yet? I've seen one on deck 13 that was teeny in comparison to decks 9 & 12 on away class ships. I've also heard rumors that all of the aft balconies on this ship will be the same size. Kind of freaking out about this. Can someone clarify?
FuzzHead Posted October 31, 2015 #109 Share Posted October 31, 2015 1. is Redbridge available anywhere besides the district brewhouse? 2. is Strongbow available by the pool? 3. is Redbridge, Strongbow, and Angry Orchard only sold in bottles, or are there cans of it anywhere. 4. Two Wheels Only Posted October 31, 2015 #111 Share Posted October 31, 2015 Has anyone seen the aft balconies yet? Kind of freaking out about this. Can someone clarify? Looking at the photos, deck 13 seems to be the smallest/least deep aft balcony on Escape. The decks on Escape have different sizes but none seem as deep as 9 and 12 on BA/GA. However, 9 and 12 on Escape seem to be close to 9 and 12 on BA/GA. Sunset Lover 1971 Posted October 31, 2015 #112 Share Posted October 31, 2015 Looking at the photos, deck 13 seems to be the smallest/least deep aft balcony on Escape. The decks on Escape have different sizes but none seem as deep as 9 and 12 on BA/GA. However, 9 and 12 on Escape seem to be close to 9 and 12 on BA/GA. I hope so. Will be in an aft on deck 12 next month and was hoping for a lounger. Based on the pictures posted (not 9 or 12), I agree they don't appear to be the "large" aft I booked. Either way, I will still have a great time. Hopefully, someone will post some pictures soon.
saryjo Posted October 31, 2015 #113 Share Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) We've been searching for the ship web Cam, have not had any luck . Also little confused with the question about ala cart and dinning package. Just was wondering what the difference is. Also little confused with the question about ala cart and dinning package. Just was wondering what the difference is. I was told when I called NCL yesterday that the BridgeCam won't be on and linked until after the christening and festivities in Miami. There are many posts and threads discussing the different dining packages and the new a la carte eateries on the Escape.

I can't say much about the aft balcony cabins on deck 9 but the aft penthouse balconies on deck 9 of Escape are half the size of the -away class. I'm okay with them not being quite that deep as long as I still have room to fit two loungers. I'm cool with not having the regular chairs fit too, but I want those loungers!
