vacation44 Posted October 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2015 If I make an excursion reservation in advance for my family and once on the ship, if I decide not to go, can we switch the reservation to someone else in our group that we are traveling with since it is already paid for? FranknBeans Posted October 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2015 Yes you cancel within 24 hours or change it to some other excursion.
punkincc Posted October 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2015 I don't know if NCL considers a name change on an excursion a cancellation. I assume individual names were taken when you booked. I would not think it would be any problem if you made the change in advance of the 24 hour policy and NCL had time to produce the tour voucher with the correct name on it. You definitely do not want someone else to show up at the tour with a voucher with your name on it and be turned away. If you think you will possibly want to substitute someone else, just go to the Excursion Desk soon after boarding and ask them how they would handle this and what your timeframe is to make any changes. HACKT Posted October 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2015 I don't think they even put names on the excursion tickets. If they do, they never check them. Basically you turn over ticket to tour operator and away you go. So if you were within cnx period or didn't want to stand in line to make name changes, just give the ticket to other person and away they go. One disclaimer is make sure new person is physically able to do tour, like if it's scuba diving or has size limits (duh).
Rare BirdTravels Posted October 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2015 ShoreEx does not care. When I buy tickets onboard, I just specify a quantity, not who is going on the tour. Yeah, when you book online, you click a box to associate the booking with a specific passenger, but anyone can use it.
HACKT Posted October 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2015 I checked my NCL excursion res for upcoming cruise on Dawn and it says 48 hr cnx policy. Not sure if that applies to all excursions but beware it might not be 24 hrs to cnx. Or you give your tickets to someone else.
