Corkscrews / Bottle openers

I believe that a corkscrew would probably be regarded as a potential weapon, as vicious as a nail file or pair of manicure scissors, and would need to be placed in hold luggage on the plane. Not sure how it is regarded as regards the ship. Logic says that it should be OK as you can borrow one anyway via your cabin steward, but logic does not always rule in such matters.

Been asked this question are you allowed to put into your Hand luggage or Hold at the airport

I myself would purchase one on board ship :D

Thank you :)

Your cabin steward will help. :)

Potential weapons should be packed in hold luggage. However if you are boarding at one of the Southampton cruise terminals, they should be packed in carry-on luggage. I still don't understand why - but we were called out from boarding to go through our suitcase to show them our 'potential weapon', and advised that their policy is the reverse of airlines. Now how that fits with fly-cruising, I don't know....................
