The ones I was considering were the ones through the ship or with Stingray Sailing as they were the shortest (2.5-3 hours). In the end, we decided to just spend the day at the beach because even the short trips would take half of the day and we are only in port until 4:00.

If I'm not mistaken, you can catch the bus to stingray city....then hit 7 Mile Beach at any of the stops...the bus is awesome!

You are mistaken. Stingray City is out in the ocean, and is only accessible by boat. None of the buses float.

The nice thing is that 7 Mile beach is very near (you drive right up along the beach) to where you get a boat to head to Stingray City, so most tours that you find will drop you off a the beach after the tour if you desire. Then just hop the bus or a cab back to port. It's easy, but make sure that the Stingray Tour you choose will give you this option. Like I said, most will do this for you. :)
