Changing flight dates on a fly cruise

Does anyone have any experience of changing the flight dates on a fly cruise? We are interested in a cruise involving a trip to Australia but would like to stay longer than the advertised cruise.Is it usually possible to change flight dates and what sort of charge,if any,is normal.Would it be easier to change using a TA or booking direct with Cunard.

Yes this can be possible. We altered the flight dates for a San Francisco to Australia cruise earlier this year. Our travel agent was able to get us cheaper flights than Cunard and it all worked well. They also arranged transfers. I would suggest you ring Cunard with your request and see the price they come up with and then also get a quote from your TA. Book the one which works out the best for you.

Both Cunard and a TA will happily extend a trip after or before a cruise and alter the flights. Certainly in the UK, the trips with stays before or after a cruise are usually much cheaper than the cruise on it's own for some reason. That's definitely been the case with some of the world cruise segments for 2016. Extending our stay in Sydney saved us over £5000 as a couple compared with flying home directly after the cruise.

 

The few times we have checked directly with Cunard, the hotel prices have been far more expensive than similar hotels booked direct or via a TA.
