This is where the tour went downhill.As the guide had a phone you would expect when we had walked through Las Penas the bus would be waiting on the other side.But no.First a 15 minute comfort stop and the he called the bus which took over 20 minutes to arrive.We then went for a drive around the suburbs near the airport.Went past a shopping centre 4 times.A lot of time wasting.

All the KFC's we saw in Ecuador had the Chicky Park sign outside.

Arrived at the airport at 1230.It is a relatively new terminal and quite attractively landscaped-

We collected our bags and went downstairs to the arrivals level.We were going to get a cab to the Sheraton but as we walked out the Sheraton shuttle pulled up.and that dear friends is finally a much delayed end.

This second sector was back to a proper Expedition cruise without a large group on board so was more enjoyable apart from our experience in Manta.

We are deserting SS for our next cruise-a Cherry Blossom cruise around Japan next April.

Finally got around to finishing reading your report, Ron. As usual, excellent pics and commentary. Guayaquil looks a lot cleaner than last time we were there.

The rodeo in Manta sounds awful. George would have had a fit. When we were in Manta, we went to Montecristo on the chivas buses, and it was very nice and fun.
