B2B tansition question

Hoping someone has the answer.

When doing a B2b out of N.O. will we be allowed right back on the ship? I'm asking because I'm thinking that this day will be a perfect opportunity to do a couple of quick loads of laundry. (I'm trying to pack light, and if I can do some wash mid way....well, it'll make my life much easier)

I know that some lines run the b2b pax off just long enough to get the all clear on the ship, then bring them right back on. Is this the same with Carnival?

TIA for your expertise

I haven't been on a back to back out of NOLA, but in Tampa we didn't even have to get off the ship. In either case, you should be able to wash some laundry on the transition day.

In most cases, you're told where and when to meet on turnaround day, then all b2b passengers are escorted off, through customs and right back on.

By the way, I've been told in the past that turnaround day may not be the best time to do laundry because of maintenance on the water system causing low water pressure.

I've done 5 b2b's only one time didn't have to get off ship. When you get your notice of time and place to meet they also have a in transit card if you want check out the port. For the walk off and right back on they take a picture free along with a free drink. I always book so I stay in same cabin,no moving. I find the time they want you show up is never right as we have to wait till ship is cleared of current pax's. This is always subject to change. Doing B2B Nov 9th and Nov 14 th on Paradise out of Tampa

We have done several B2B and our cabin steward recommended that we didn't do laundry on the transition day. He told us that the last full day of the first cruise is a good day to do it and he was right. We have never had to wait for a washer or dryer that last day since everyone is packing to go home.

On our B2B, we were escorted through customs and right back on the ship. Took about 15 minutes. We did laundry (no one warned us about the water pressure), and I didn't notice anything. I did see a ship's officer in the laundry room doing her laundry.

That makes so much more sense... I'll keep that in mind. That may work better for us..

Thank all y'all for your information....

We usually also try to book the same room on a b2b, but it wasnt possible this time, as we booked the second leg so much later than the first leg. I'm hoping that our room host will be able to arrange our luggage transfer, or at least assist. I seem to remember one other b2b on a differ line, that they moved the bags for us. does anyone know Carnivals policies on this?

I've done several back to back cruises in which I had to change rooms. My cabin steward just moved the hang up clothes directly from closet to closet without them being taking off the hangers. He only had me pack fold up clothes and other personal in my suitcases. I received my new room key and went to my new room my clothes were already there hanging in the closet and my suitcase was sitting on the bed on that plastic luggage pad ready to be unpacked.

Absolute rubbish about the water pressure on turn around day. There is no maintenance on the water system that would cause low water pressure. Unlike your home, where the water sits in the lines, pressurized, until you open a tap to use it, the water on the ship is constantly recirculating from the tank, through the ship and back to the tank, so the pump is always providing the same pressure. And this is the worst day to have any maintenance or repair to the water system, since the cabin stewards need water to service the cabins, the laundry is starting to wash all the linens, etc., so water demand is high.

I would always shake my head at the amount of incorrect technical information I would hear the crew would tell people, even when they saw me standing nearby. I always tried to step forward after to correct the misunderstanding. Crew are not really different from the general public with the urban myths and "a friend once told me that he heard".

I haven't done a B2B out of New Orleans but in Port Canaveral on the Valor we got off the ship and went through customs, and went straight back to the ship. It took between 5 - 10 minutes. You may want to do your laundry on the last day of the first cruise. Sometimes, there is maintenance done on the water system on turn around day.

I agree with the others that say do your laundry on the last day or wait till people start boarding on the second leg. We tried to do our laundry on switch over day between cruises. We got all the laundry into the machines and then found that our old SS card would not work and neither would our new one. When we called GS they said that the computer would be down for about an hour in-between cruises. We just sat in the laundry room for about 40 minutes and then the computer worked again and there was no problem. I guess this would only apply to ships that use your SS card to pay for laundry.
