Royal pier in ft. Lauderdale

Terminal 2, at the SE 17th St entrance next to the northport garage.

The only possible times it would not be at Terminal 2 are days when both the Royal and Regal are in port. Since Royal is on a 10 day schedule and Regal a 7 day it happens a couple times each season. That will next happen on December 20 this year and March 13, 2016. Which one will be at an alternate terminal those days is usually a very last minute decision.

On a Caribbean cruise back in mid January the Royal and Regal were in port on the same day when we disembarked the Regal. The Regal was at Pier 2, the Royal went to an alternate pier. I think the Regal may have priority, being the flagship of the Princess fleet.

We're on that sailing on the 20th, and it's our first time sailing out of FLL. Do you have any recommendations on how to determine where we need to go?

The security officers at the port entrance will know (make sure you have your ID and cruise documentation ready to show them) plus there are signs listing each ship and its terminal passing the security gates.

The official Port Everglades ship traffic schedule will list the Terminal assigments seven days in advance:

Or you may receive an e-mail from Princess with 'EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION' on the subject line. Don't panic, it's just to inform you that your ship will be the one not at Terminal 2 (and it will tell you whether you are at 4, 21, or 29).

It is stated too on your final documents.

Terminal 2 is very easy to enter.

Many cruisers drop their bags at the ship and walk back to 17th St. to pick up their two bottles of wine and other essentials. Others choose to walk to the ship direct from their hotel on 17th. It's that close.

I will bet the farm that the final documents for both Royal Princess and Regal Princess on December 20th currently say Terminal 2. Passengers on the one that will be at a different terminal will not know until they get that 'EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION' (sic) e-mail.

Royal is actually the flagship for the fleet since she was the first ship in the largest class.

Which one is berthed at Terminal 2 generall depends on which comes in first.
