Hi

Does anybody have any recommendations where I can buy binoculars in Anchorage before heading off to Whittier for our cruise. Preferably in the downtown area.

Only looking to spend around $150 max as will only be using them on the cruise.

Thanks in advance

Karen

Since there does not appear to be a sporting stores in AK downtown area (staying at Hotel Captain Cook) I will definitely get a cab to the best store.

Taking into account we would only want to visit 1 store, Which would be the best store for variety and different price points from the suggestions provided by AKstafford ' Cabela's, Bass Pro, Fred Meyer's, Walmart, Mt. View Sports and Sportsman Warehouse. And Sports Authority. '

For walking, 6th Avenue Outfitters would have the best selection downtown. Stewarts has some Nikon binocs but a very limited selection. I do shop at Stewarts for camera accessories and their prices are very comparable to Amazon.

Fred Meyer on Northern Lights Blvd would be the next closest place but would require a cab that would probably be about $15-20 each way. Walmart in Midtown would be about the same. The other stores would be $20-25 each way.

6th Ave Outfitters is just a few blocks away from the Captain Cook. And there is also the photo place that was mentioned. If you were going to take a taxi, probably heading to Bass Pro would be your best bet.
