First Disney Cruise Dream or Magic - best water features for 10 yr old

We are going to book our first ever Disney Cruise. We are looking at the Dream and the Magic. We would prefer something shorter since we've never cruised Disney, my son has autism, and he will not be interested in any of the childrens sections. All he will care about is arcades, and water related stuff plus the shows.

Is there a aqualab on the Dream or just the Nemos reef area? Also do you need to make reservations for the shows and how do you find out if Cabanas are available at Castaway Cay?

Well, there are no more arcades on the Disney ships.

Water related - on the Dream is the AquaDuck. Sort of a lazy river (but just a little faster and elevated). Also (new) is the Funnel Puddle (a small wading pool). Also, Nemo's Reef is for kids 8 and under. No AquaLab on the Dream.

On the Magic it's the AquaDunk. Very high speed drop of 3 decks (floor opens up underneath your feet), but there's the Aqua Lab on the Magic as well as Twist N Spout (a big water slide).

No reservations for the shows, just show up.

When your booking window for excursions opens, that's when you can see what (if any) Cabanas are available.

My son was diagnosed low on the spectrum and water was always one of his calming techniques and just loves the Aquaduck. There have been times when he rode that thing 20 times in a row, especially at night after dinner when the lines are short.

Also, unless you're sailing concierge, your chances of snagging a cabana are pretty slim, sorry.
