Rare babs135 Posted November 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Just had a look at their website and it is slightly confusing. I realise you have to prebook, but could you book one tour to immediately follow another? Would also appreciate thoughts on which are the best tours. And what about the 'Meet the Residents' or the walking tours?
Crusin6 Posted December 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2015 Yes you can book 2 tours. However each tour usually does 2 immigrant groups Our tour did Italian and Russian Jewish immigrants We saw a total of 3 apts.....Sicilian.....Russian.....and another I believe That was really really run down The museum is incredible and you will tear up Sent from my iPad using Forums
CasaM Posted December 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2015 We just returned from NYC and did the Irish Immigrants, which is on the 4th floor. This tour was 1 hr long. We saw an apt in decay, and then an apt decorated as it was when the Irish immigrants lived there. It's a long walk up to the 4th floor and there is no elevator, just FYI. A few years ago we did the Hard Times tour which was 2 hrs long. It showed apts on the 2nd floor, one of Jewish immigrants and the other Italian immigrants. This is really a worthwhile museum to visit with lots of history attached.
