13cheermom Posted November 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2015 So we would like to go to the Sandbar to see the stingrays (first time) and then I saw the Starfish Point added to the stingray for about $20/pp more. Just wondering if it's really worth it for anyone that has done that combo tour. Only says tour is about 30 min. longer so just wondering if the $20 for 30 more minutes is justified. Any recent information would be appreciated!
cb at sea Posted November 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2015 I guess that will depend on how much you want to see starfish!!
13cheermom Posted November 16, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted November 16, 2015 I guess that will depend on how much you want to see starfish!! Yes, that is the question isn't it, LOL. But just wondered if anyone had done this part recently and enjoyed it or not. Sometimes descriptions of excursions are nowhere close to the actual reality of what happens. That's why it is nice to read others opinions on excursions so you can make an educated decision. Didn't really see any input on this in the boards, so makes me question it. mrsfuzzmo Posted November 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2015 It's just an area near Rum Point that the starfish kind of congregate. It's cool if you like starfish. I've been there but not on a tour. We stayed in the area a while ago and wandered over there. You can just walk in the water and see them, generally. I guess you could snorkel, but they are usually pretty shallow so easy to see. It's not far from Stingray sandbar so it would be a nice addition.....if you like starfish. Thanks so much for your input! That's exactly what I meant as more details and logistics of where it's located. Didn't really want to spend another 30 minutes just riding in the boat to get to another location. But it sounds like its pretty close so would be a nice addition to the stingray part.
