Using iMessage on wifi?

On Carnival's new Wifi plan can you use iMessage with the social plan?

i used Imessage with the new social plan while i was on the Carnival Pride. No issues. if you have guests that do not have Iphones we used the whatsapp with them.

I just got off the Triumph on Sat. and I used it on the Value plan, which is $15/16 per day or a certain amount for entire cruise. It worked perfectly and I was also able to send pics with it.

It also works on the $5 day Social Media plan. :)

I'm really not to savvy on the iPhone or the iPad. I will be cruising without my kids, they all have an iPhone. And of course are on FB. Which would be best to contact them using the new $5 per day plan.

If you have an "I" product and they have an "I" product, you just put it in airplane mode, log into the ship wifi, (we used the $5 plan) and just text as you normally would. The "I" product sends the texts over the wifi connection instead of via the cell carrier. It works the same as a regular text.

 

If you want to text someone who is not using an "I" product, like an Android phone, you would need to text through an app like whatsapp or facebook.

 

We used it and it was amazing!!

I had the social plan last week on the Miracle, and at times I could use iMessage, but not always. It seemed that I always had to resign into my iMessage account every time that my wifi disconnected.

I must have been lucky. Just got off 21 days on the Triumph and it worked for me every day on the Value plan.

Yeah it worked great in June on the Sunshine for us but not the Breeze.

We were on the Breeze also that returned Nov. 7th and it worked fine all week for us. We used it to do a video call thru IMessage a couple of times and it was very choppy but fun to chat with the kids back home.

I am currently on Breeze and have the value ($60) plan.

iMessage only worked for me on day 1 and stopped working and will

not activate.
