One of the best cruises with MSC.

 

The Cruise Director Stephen Cloete was fantastic and involved himself in every part of the Entertainment which also inspired the others.

 

(The Italian Stallion on the Oz cruise could take a few if not more lessons from him !!! )

 

Most of the passengers appeared to jell with very little signs of any adverse interaction between nationalities or complaints, although we could have done without the German lady who decided to join us on our breakfast table on the one occasion that we went to the MDR and tell us how wonderful all her other cruise lines were ! We left rather quickly.!!!

 

Malcolm tends to do an early morning few laps of the deck and was fascinated to see that even on the TOP 13 there was someone at 06.30 determined to bag one of the pods !

 

The Captain, Ciro Pinto whom we have sailed with before,was very much in evidence, although as he was the Captain on the Melody on the last cruise up the east coast of Africa when it was attacked by the Pirates, he was very keen to ensure that the ship was secure and ready for any repetition.

 

Luckily we had booked, before our 20% discount disappeared and for the first time were Aurea. Definitely beat the system !

 

Unfortunately, we enjoyed that package sooooo much that I have just upgraded ourselves from Fantastica to Aurea for our next cruise, and am delighted that having also booked that before losing the discount, have found that they have given us the same discount on the upgrade. YESSSSSS !!!!

 

All in all, a great cruise, lovely people and a super crew.:)

Great to hear you had a wonderful cruise. I've booked the Sinfonia Venice-Durban 2016, also in an Aurea suite with the (now defunct) 20% discount :D. Not only did we "beat the system", but the price has risen considerably since!

 

Can you tell me what the currency onboard was? Also, how did Anytime Dining work out? Thanks in advance ;)
