Sunshine - Smoking Cigars

Hello All,

I am not a smoker and do know I cannot smoke in the cabin/balcony and only in certain areas on the ship.

I am taking my dad on his first cruise in January on the Carnival Sunshine and he enjoys a good cigar when on vacation. Is there any where on the ship Cigars are permitted and is it a pleasant area? If there is an area - is it an open area with a view of the water or is it like one of those disgusting foggy smoke rooms some airports still have?

Thanks!

7/08/14 Updated Smoking Policy

Effective on voyages departing October 9, 2014, or thereafter, all staterooms and suite accommodations are an entirely smoke free environment, including the outside balcony. This policy includes all forms of smoking, including but not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes (E-cigarettes), tobacco pipes and personal vaporizers.

Cigarette, E-cigarette and personal vaporizer smoking will be allowed in our night clubs (except on Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Vista) and in certain areas within the casino (for playing guests while at designated slot machines and table games) and the casino bar.

Cigarette, E-cigarette, personal vaporizer, cigar and tobacco pipe smoking will be allowed in our Jazz clubs on the following ships: Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom and Carnival Splendor.

Cigarette, E-cigarette, personal vaporizer, cigar and tobacco pipe smoking will be allowed in designated exterior open deck areas.

I will also add that Deck 10 area was VERY smoky at all times of the day - and it wafted up to where we were walking on the track. It would be nice if they moved that section to a better less popular location as the kids are all headed that way to get to sportssquare.

Is deck 3 on port side. I love this deck!! There is hardly ever anyone out there, and its a great spot to watch the ocean in peace and quiet. I end up becoming acquainted with other smokers that I run into all the time there. I made sure I picked a cabin with very easy access to this area.. It is the long deck under the lifeboats with plenty of chairs to sit and relax...
