rolloman Posted December 8, 2015 #27 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Are there ice cream machines on the Spirit? I did not see any. They did however serve scooped ice cream at no charge in the buffet area.
rolloman Posted December 8, 2015 #28 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Thanks for the review... we are going in February. My son is wanting to know if there were chicken fingers. Are there multiple times for the shows or one time only? Multiple times for shows and I did see chicken fingers available.
eddeb Posted December 9, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted December 9, 2015 To answer a few more questions: Yes, it is little known that the sauna and steam room are included at NC on this ship. Also their great showers if you find your room a little small. I am sure we saw chicken fingers, maybe raffles which is 24/7 and has great chicken wings, etc. Costa Maya is sorta like going to Epcot in Mexico, if you stay at the main area. Jamaica, just hang at Margarita ville. Free beach and slides, pool, etc. Jimmy t shirts 50% off for around 12 bucks... Lots of Ganja peddlers, Stay away if you don't want to have folks visit you once or twice a year. The white hot party was great, moved inside to deck 12 due to high winds due to high seas and winds. Do not miss the "Quest" show. wow. Please remember to TIP TIP! Bring a box of candy to tip with, they will love it, I know our crew did! :) Will answer some more questions tomorrow, still wobbling a little as the ship was flying with 45 knot winds and folks falling and grabbing hand rails right and left in public areas. Only the 2nd time in 20 plus years of cruising that my kids and family got sea sick in low seas but high wind. Not sure what that was about. (stabilizers Mon Capitan?) Remember room service is 24/7 in your room and a great BLT will make your nite... :) Looking forward to the Epic soon. We are the Moore's Tampa Bay Take care everyone and have a safe journey. Medtech2 Posted December 9, 2015 #31 Share Posted December 9, 2015 Someone once mentioned a Toga party or is that way in the past? Crepe station? Bong the bartender...is he THE famous Bong? Because we have yet to meet him, always seem to just miss him! I, too, would really appreciate Dailes. (Scanned as PDF's really easy to read) Glad you had a great time! I know we plan to! vicocala Posted December 9, 2015 #32 Share Posted December 9, 2015 I too was interested if indeed Bong is on the Spirit. In June on the Getaway, he was on vacation and I was told he was scheduled to be on the Escape when it sailed. I've never met him but would like to. monl765 Posted December 10, 2015 #33 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Did you make advanced reservations for the shows @ NCL's website, or book onboard? I leave in about 50 days and no entertainment can be booked on NCL.
hawkeyetlse Posted December 10, 2015 #34 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Did you make advanced reservations for the shows @ NCL's website, or book onboard?Neither! Entertainment reservations are only a thing on the newer megaships (Epic, BA/GA, Escape). On Spirit the nightly shows are walk-in only, first come first seated. I leave in about 50 days and no entertainment can be booked on NCL. No reservations take place for the one nightly on this ship. Hopefully you are not confusing this ship with the Epic and Breakaway class. This is a small old school cruise.

eddeb Posted December 11, 2015 Author #37 Share Posted December 11, 2015 We met Bong on the Getaway on our Halloween cruise. Bong is a nick name like "Mikey" in the Phillipines. Our Bong on the Spirit was usually at the Bier Garden over the pool where you can relax and get good burgers and dogs all day. Also ask for Benji at the front Casino Bar, tell them Mr. "Ed" as I was nicknamed says hello and to hook you up with a nice cocktail. :) Here is a pic out our window at GSC. (Ths Wasn't in the brochure! ) lol Will write more about our cruise soon... Take care everyone and have safe journeys. eddeb Posted December 12, 2015 Author #40 Share Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) Sorry we did not save the dailies for you Joker, I am sure someone will post them if you put up a new post...Do not miss the shogun, ask for family style dishes, yummy. We went on the web and entered "Park n Go" at cocoa beach. Many Hotels now have specials, check it out. We found a travel agency hooked up with the Chamber of Commerce named: "Go Port Canaveral" We stayed at the International Palms, 13 acre resort right on the beach, waterfront rest, great band, heated pools, hot tub, and so on.... We stayed the nite before, got shuttle service to the port, including parking, and return shuttle to our car for around $129 total. :) You also can find more upscale hotels with the same thing for a little more $. They buy blocks of rooms and even the hotels sometimes can not match their rates. Do NOT MISS the Production shows, Rock n Roll, The World and Elements! The Quest will make you cry laughing... I know we did. :) And give them a standing "O" at the end, as this is what the cast and dancers live for! Ask the Reggae band on the pool deck to play: "Green green wine..." they will then tell you it is: "Red Red Wine" and then tell them, No its green green in the morning after drinking red wine all nite.... :) they play a ten minute version that is great! If you go to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, the DJ will play any of his songs, just remember to tip, great BAR drinks, Lot'sa SHARKS, and great food portions in Jamaica Mon. Why Don't we get drunk and $%(*. I Just bought a waterbed... :) Pic is from the Beach at Jimbo's. We're the Moore's. Tyskie Posted December 12, 2015 #41 Share Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) Thanks eddeb ! We're driving in from the Jacksonville area so won't be staying overnight like we do in FLL. In Boston and NY we don't make reservations and I'm wondering if they are needed in PC. Glad you enjoyed your trip - thanks so much for your input!
