Wellington vantage points

Hi everyone!

I'm headed back to Wellington early next year again and while I love the city and know it well I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to go to see the cruise ships coming and going. I have seen a few from a couple of different vantage points over the years but if anyone has any special gems of places they'd recommend, I'd be all ears!

Hope everyone has a good holiday season!

Most places in Wellington have a view of the harbour at some point. The Heads are a good place to watch the cruise ships , but they are only there for a brief time in the morning and again at sailout.

Heres a link to the webcams at the Heads and the preceding Bays..

We have friends who once lived in house that overlooked the entrance and they used to tell of ships coming in during some of the wild weather and their propellers would be way up out of the water....
