Asked to NOT play Blackjack?

Has anyone ever been asked to not play, or stop playing, blackjack? I'm asking mainly in the circumstances of betting too much, or moving your bet around too much, or jumping in and out of shoes, not in the cases of being inebriated or causing a negative scene.

I prefer to play unrated at my home casino but I feel on a ship, there is never anonymity.

I once was playing heads up and went from 1 hand of $6 to 2 hands of $75 when the pit offered me a free drink. I took the bait and unfortunately had to present my ship card for the comp. I finished out the shoe and did not increase my ramp further to avoid additional heat. Fortunately and unfortunately, I was +1600 in about an hour so I chose to immediately back myself off ("had to meet the misses for dinner") and avoided the cage. I was able to cash out by the end of the cruise.

If I'm blessed I should have 50+ years of cruising ahead of me so I'd like to avoid a ship or cruise line ban of BJ.

If your bet range is that wide then the Casino may suspect you of card counting especially if the increases occur with a low count. If that is the case the Casino have several options one of which is to ask you not to play. Others might be to restrict your maximum bet to the table minimum or to cut the shoe so deep that it makes counting impossible.

Are they not either using the machine continuous shufflers or cutting the 8 deck shoe at least 3 deep?

I used to joke with my wife that if the cruise casino manager ever suspected me of card counting, I worried that he/she might make me walk a plank, rather than backing me off, or trespassing (86'ing) me.

Not all casinos use continual shufflers & they tend to be used on the lower limit tables. Card counting in to a an 8 deck shoe with 3 decks cut off is still possible.
