SplitRaindrop Posted December 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Does anyone know if you can switch the card for on board spending when you check-in at the port? We are trying to use one card to pay for excursions in advance (a debit card with a Visa logo) and then a different card for on board spending (a credit card). I was told if I book excursions online prior they will use whatever card we enter during online check-in. I am hoping we can just use the debit card and then when arrive at the port present the credit card. Does anyone have any experience switching cards? Rare POA1 Posted December 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Yes, you can. Just tell them when you check in and give them the new card.
Rare POA1 Posted December 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2015 One caveat - Make sure you call your bank and let them know what you are planning to do. You don't want to have them activate security measures on you while you travel.

I usually put the deposit on my regular credit card - know the number by heart - and change it to my 'travel' credit card at check in.
iflyrc5 Posted December 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 28, 2015 You also need to present the credit card
take us away Posted December 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2015 As you want to use a debit card, I would call HAL before you get there and ask the customer service dept if there are any restrictions in using a debit card vs a credit card.
