LUCY55 Posted October 11, 2005 Author #26 Share Posted October 11, 2005 Oh DARN!! Fares went even lower. Could have used the $128 fare RT from ORD-MIA. I paid $158. How can they make any money?
wrp96 Posted October 11, 2005 #27 Share Posted October 11, 2005 Should have with you both the airline telephone number and the cruiseline telephone number. I still have both programmed into my phone from my last cruise. Make sure you have the day-of-travel number for the cruiseline programmed in, not just their main customer service line. hightownCO Posted October 11, 2005 #28 Share Posted October 11, 2005 WOW Lucy! What are your travel dates? They make money by NOT lowering fares in other markets. St. Louis just a little way south of you is high as a kite! In Chicago, they compete with United, Southwest and probably other discount carriers. I can get a good rate if I fly in two days early and leave one day after cruise. So faced with three nights hotel when I only really want to come in the day before. LUCY55 Posted October 11, 2005 Author #29 Share Posted October 11, 2005 It is more about dates. This is a Jan 7 to Jan 15 trip. At that time there are $143 (+fees) fares from STL to MIA. I believe you are looking at April. I would just wait. Possibly fares will come down. However if your dates are still part of Springbreak or Easter--they probably won't go as low.
