GeneralCruise1 Posted January 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Does anyone know the size of the bottles in the six pack/24 pack available through the shopping section of the DCL site? They look like the 16.9 ounce size but the description doesn't specify. Thanks!
moki'smommy Posted January 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2016 I would have said 16 ounce before reading your post. Definitely bigger than 12 and smaller than 24. Unless you have a desire to spend money, there is no need to buy water on DCL. The ship's water is fine to drink. We bring an empty container that can be refilled. If you do want bottled water and have access to a store prior to boarding the ship...well, my local grocery sells a 24 pack for under $5 normally and sometimes puts it on sale for $2.99. The ship is happy to charge over $30.
GeneralCruise1 Posted January 4, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Agreed! But figured I'd double check the size. Looks like there's a grocery store near our hotel in San Juan, I'll make a stop there. I'm picky about my water, so I'll bring it with me. Thank you! Club Disney Chandler Posted January 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2016 They are 16.9. They are outrageously expensive but we buy a case every cruise because of the convenience. But DCL cruise fare is expensive too so why not spend the money on water too.
Ex techie Posted January 5, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2016 (edited) If they are the same as the room service packages, they are 20 oz if Dasani or 16 oz Evian. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2295921 ex techie Edited January 5, 2016 by Ex techie
Spycee1 Posted January 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Not to hijack but if you were to buy a case before boarding, how would you carry it on? Would you try to cram a 24 pack into your carry-on or can you slap a luggage tag on it and treat it as such?

meatloafsfan Posted January 5, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 5, 2016 You can also wait to purchase once you're on the ship. For most of our cruises I've pre-purchased the Evian from the online site. However, when I called before our November cruise, the woman I spoke with couldn't guarantee it would be Evian and not Dasani so I didn't order. Once we boarded, I ordered a 12 pack (actually, 2 - 6 packs) of Evian from a guy set up at table and it arrived in the room while we were at dinner on night 1 so not a big difference in my book. If I take another DCL cruise, I'll wait till I'm onboard to order.

No questions asked, but it sure was heavy lugging them around until our stateroom was ready.
moki'smommy Posted January 5, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 5, 2016 DCL does not permit beverages in checked luggage. They don't care what (if any) container it is in, as long as it is carried on. A rolling piece of luggage is probably easiest.
