Farewell Show

Does anyone know what happened to the Farewell shows in the theaters on the NCL ships? I thought it was a great end of the cruise having the captain and ship crew come out and thank everyone for sailing with NCL......Now its a just farewell dance party at Spice H20. wondering if NCL decided to get rid of it or something else.....

Of all the cruises we have been on, they have never not had a show. It's possible none of the crew wanted to participate. But I will find out in Mar. if this is still true! :confused:

The Pearl had one last month. It was at the end of another show the last night (well it was the next to last night because of a last minute show schedule change). All the crew came out singing..ending with washy-washy. It seems they don't do this on the mega ships as there are not regular evening shows when it would be possible to do it.

Oh ok that's great to hear....my sailing on the Escape in December did not have one.

We were on December 5 Escape sailing and there was a farewell show. Crew had also put together cute holiday video. Show wasn't well publicized. But we always enjoy them very much. Extremely talented crew!

What :-( omg that was my sailing date and 3 workers told us they only were doing the party! We were so bummed out and they didn't even put it in the dailies for us to go see it!! I'm so sad now I missed it. How did u find out??

There was a short set on the Jade last Spring, added on to the 'Elements' show.

We had a show on the Escape TA, some of the crew had came and waved at the end of it, and waited outside the theatre to say hello/goodbye to everyone.

The Jewel had a farewell show back in September, but they did not perform Fountains, which has always been a favorite show for many passengers. I would guess it all has to do with the CD and his staff.

I have heard no more Fountains, on any ship. Which is sad for the passengers, but I'm sure is a relief for the CD staff. I would not be able to stand there and have water spit on me without a bit of gagging lol

There are usually TWO shows which some of you are confusing:

 

One is the crew talent show which is were the crew perform and where they used to do the fountain thing. They don't always have this show.

 

The other is the Farewell Show where the officers and crew representatives are introduced and sing the farewell song, then stand in the corridors of the theater as we leave. On the eight cruises I have been on, the last one in September 2015, they have had this show. However, I have never sailed on the big ships.

On our last two cruises on the Dawn the "farewell" show was added at the end of Elements.

So that's probably why we missed it.....it had to have been after a show. Well it's good to know they still do it....kind of upset they didn't put it in the dailies

Farewell Shows are: 7:45 P.M. and 9:30 P.M.
