mamawsnest Posted January 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2016 We have booked a suite for our next cruise. I noticed on the boarding document it says priority but says nothing on the luggage tags.
loxley Posted January 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2016 You get on the ship as vip guest, but you do not get priority luggage. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
mamawsnest Posted January 15, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Are there any other perks or should I since I'm gold go ahead and purchase FTTF?
Pesh Posted January 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2016 With a suite you board first with a VIP escort. Unless you have tender ports, the only benefit FTTF would get you in this case would be faster luggage delivery.
kicia Posted January 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Never heard of a VIP escort for suites. Maybe for the Penthouse suites but that is it. You would also get to use the priority line at Guest Services. You would also be able to go to your cabin as soon as you get on the ship.

Booking a suite gets you on and off the ship faster but that's about it. You get to board after/with the Diamond and Platinum guests. FTTF will add on faster luggage deliver, access to your cabin as soon as you board, priority tending if you port at a tender port and use of the Diamond/Platinum line at guest services. This is from my personal experience with booking suites.
Pesh Posted January 15, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Sorry, didn't realize the escort is only for Captain's Suite
vwrestler171 Posted January 15, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2016 I don't think suites get a priority line at guest services. On my last cruise the sign said Diamond/Platinum/Faster to the Fun. Nothing about suites.
Relax@Sea Posted January 15, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Sorry, didn't realize the escort is only for Captain's Suite You don't get an escort for the Captains suite unless you specifically request it in advance, you only get the escort for the Owners suites on the Fantasy class ships due to that the cabins are not shown on any deck plans and some passengers may have difficulty locating those cabins. moniquet Posted January 15, 2016 #12 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Suites check in at a separate area, coffee, juices and cookies provided. They are then escorted direct to security. No other perks although our bags arrived within the hour. HAL has good suite perks with a lounge and guest services and all day snacks, etc. Carnival suites are larger. troublemaker256 Posted January 15, 2016 #13 Share Posted January 15, 2016 You would also get to use the priority line at Guest Services. Sorry, not unless you purchase FTTF. Suites do not have priority guest services access. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ShakyBeef Posted January 15, 2016 #14 Share Posted January 15, 2016 (edited) Booking a suite gets you on and off the ship faster but that's about it. You get to board after/with the Diamond and Platinum guests. FTTF will add on faster luggage deliver, access to your cabin as soon as you board, priority tending if you port at a tender port and use of the Diamond/Platinum line at guest services. This is from my personal experience with booking suites. This is correct. There's a lot of confusion and/or misinformation in this thread, but Mom2sml got it right. I've sailed in 3 suites on Carnival. Once with FTTF, and 2 times without it. I've booked my 4th suite and bought FTTF again for my upcoming cruise. I 'll just add: FTTF also gets you priority dining reservations. From Carnival's website: CARNIVAL’S FASTER TO THE FUN PACKAGE: Here's what it includes: (Note: VIFP Club Diamond & Platinum members do not need to purchase this package as these and other benefits are included as part of your VIFP Club status.) Priority Check-in Bypass lines and have exclusive security screening lanes for initial embarkation at onset of cruise. Guaranteed Stateroom Your stateroom will be ready as soon as you board, so you can relax or freshen up for the fun you're about to have. Express Luggage Your luggage will be expedited to your stateroom so you can unpack and get settled in for a great vacation! Guest Services You'll have a dedicated phone number and line at Guest Services so you can quickly have your questions answered. Dining Reservations Priority Main Dining Room and Specialty Restaurant reservations (excluding Your Time Dining). Priority Tender Boarding We hope you take advantage of Carnival's Excursions. If you choose to explore the destination on your own, you will have the option to choose a priority tender from the ship to shore. Debarkation We're always sad to see you go. But when your cruise is over, you may choose an early or late debarkation time upon arrival to your homeport. Suites check in at a separate area, coffee, juices and cookies provided. They are then escorted direct to security. No other perks although our bags arrived within the hour. HAL has good suite perks with a lounge and guest services and all day snacks, etc. Carnival suites are larger. This depends on the embarkation port, and maybe some other factors as well. I've only sailed in suites out of Baltimore. Once, the VIP check-in lounge wasn't even open - we checked in through the VIP line at the main counter. And cookies and beverages were only offered on one of the three times I was in the VIP check-in lounge, and it happened to be when I was sailing in a suite on RCI. DH and I arrive at port early, so after check-in, we are escorted to the VIP seating "corral" to await boarding. riffatsea Posted January 15, 2016 #15 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Suites get you on and off the ship early. We buy FTTF because we want our cabin ready and we like the priority line at guest services and the tendering privileges. We'd probably buy it just to have the cabin ready if nothing else was offered!
mamawsnest Posted January 20, 2016 Author #16 Share Posted January 20, 2016 Thanks everyone. I usually go with FTTF but noticed it said priority and thought it might really mean something. Oh, well. Off to see if there are any open FTTF slots.
