I guess whole GSC is renewed since 5 years:

- lagoon added

- new beaches (near cabanas and lagoon)

- hippo slide

- new entrance/tender dock

- multiple bars

- large and small cabanas (day rent)

- float rental, jet ski, parasail etc (or similar) excursions

- tram (shuttle bus) service along the back road of the island, 3 or 4 stops

- small food stand at lagoon

Wow, thanks for the picture! I think the area ended where the clamshells are the last time we went! Very interesting. :p

Yup, could be! From there to the bottom of the pic:

The large cabana's, on a bit of an hill overseeing the beach. Next a patch of green grass, after that a bar and the small cabana's, float rental, small food stand and facilities building (last tram stop, one tram visible in the open part) and the lagoon.

There are several useful GSC threads in my post history!

I think I will always miss the beach landings on the Bahamaramamama there!

At least they still have the Little Norways (at least they did last time i went)

Little Norways are still in action. "Big Mama" is still there too, although she's been repurposed into a supply/trash carrier. You'll see her alongside just after arrival and before departure. 60+ years old and still running!

Some threads, reading those should keep you busy untill the cruise hehe:

Great Stirrup Cay cabana

GSC cabana

Great Stirrup Cay, last week

Great Stirrup Cay lagoon?

GSC - Lagoon Area

Thank you for this! Trying to decide "where" and "what" to do with a party of nine for our first visit to GSC in April and these look like great reads for me to learn more.

First what comes to mind is a large cabana/2 small ones for a large group like yours but do know that the price is based on demand (month and ship).

From there you can do the lagoon, hit the food court, enjoy the bar service. Hide from sun and/or wind, use the shower in the back of the cabana. Great base for a day on GSC!

My issue with the cabanas-price! Holy hell they're costly though we've discussed sharing cost among the 3 households. I do like idea of shower and "base camp" for the 4, 10, 12 and two teens;)
