Aquahound Posted January 21, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 21, 2016 I picked "Yes", but in reality, you are no more "safe" on a cruise than in your shopping mall, or city, or neighborhood....You realize you are not 100% safe anywhere...don't you? I don't agree with that at all. Statistically, cruise ships are much safer.

SadieN Posted January 21, 2016 #28 Share Posted January 21, 2016 A cruise ship is a small town with a scheduled 100% population change. I have never understood why people think a cruise ship is any different than a resort. It is our behaviors that change when we are "on vacation." We tend to have a false belief that the act of being on vacation puts us in a crime-free safety bubble. How many people do you know that would go to their local city park, leave a beach bag on a bench to "reserve" it and then walk away for hours? What are parents thinking when they bring minor children aboard a ship, or to a resort, and let them run free for hours on end? "Safety" on a cruise ship isn't an issue, behaviors that make you a victim is. Ships don't have a 100% pop change. It's around the 50% mark as the crew stays onboard. papcx Posted January 21, 2016 #29 Share Posted January 21, 2016 Not many of us get to cruise on lines with 1 to 1 crew ratios.
