Progressive Check-In

I received an email from Princess today about progressive check-in for my cruise on 2/7 out of Bayport. I haven't been on Princess in a few years and never received this on my previous Princess cruises. Are the progressive check-in times enforced?

Although it's liable to be crowded most people just arrive when they want to.

I show up "about" 11:30 and am in my cabin by noon-ish.

If this is Bayport TX then you might have some issues. You can find some of the threads about the Caribbean Princess and the issues that are faced when leaving Bayport. From what I've read on CC the terminal can be crowded especially if there is a holdup with the ship. You might have to wait outside and it could be cold. From what I've read there really is nothing around the cruise terminal to do if there is a delay. Are you staying in a hotel near the port the night before? If so I would try to find out if there are any delays before going to the terminal. If not then go when you are ready.
